Schenectady Loses Gomez for Year Thursday, August 11th , 2050 Willie Gomez will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and indicated the Schenectady reliever could miss the remainder of the year. Gomez was injured while throwing a pitch in the Grasshoppers-Roadrunners clash at Ballpark of Schenectady recently. Doctors said he has a torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be out a minimum of 12 months. So far this year, Gomez has made 29 relief appearances with 4 saves, thrown 40 innings and struck out 23 with a 2-1 record. |
