Traverse City Shut Out, 15-0, By Abes, Hutchins
Thursday, May 30th , 2052
The Traverse City Cherries were almost helpless in their 15-0 loss to the Lincolnville Abes and hurler Josh Hutchins. Hutchins kept the Cherries confused all game, spinning a 7-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Hutchins," Traverse City manager Matt Bronson said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 27-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 5 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Hutchins said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
This year, Hutchins has recorded a 7-2 mark. In 11 starts he has fanned 56 batters in 81 innings with a 2.11 ERA.
