Vigil Bashes 5 Base Hits
Wednesday, August 10th , 2050
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.
Miguel Vigil of the Acadia Peregrines had one such moment at Peregrines Ballpark, when he went 5 for 6 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and Acadia succumbed to defeat, 5-4, to the Traverse City Cherries.
"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 26-year-old left fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."
Miguel Vigil hit a solo-shot off Elder Cerejeiro in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
This season, Vigil has hit at a .307 clip and produced 55 runs batted in, 17 home runs and 55 runs.
