Schenectady's Fischer Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits Sunday, August 13th , 2051 It was a parade of hits for Ed Fischer of the Schenectady Grasshoppers at Volcanoes Ballpark. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Fischer finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Grasshoppers to a win, 10-5. "Fischer was really good and we were really bad," groaned Volcanoes manager Jonathan Lawson. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Ed Fischer hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
