Da Nang-Salem-Keizer Fight Results in Suspensions Tuesday, August 1st , 2051 Yesterday at Volcanoes Ballpark Matt Shelton and Kenny Suffel got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Da Nang Dolphins and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Shelton will have to sit out 4 while Suffel would be given a 9-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. In the 2051 season Shelton is hitting .292 with 7 home runs. Checking out his stats for the year, Suffel has racked up 5 wins and 4 losses in 13 starts, posted a 3.21 ERA, and struck out 52 batters in 81.1 innings. |
