Hiriza and Jimenez Fight, Get Suspended Thursday, July 6th , 2051 After an intense confrontation, both the Roadrunners Virgil Hiriza and the Blue Devils Jose Jimenez were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Albuquerque-Concord game. Virgil Hiriza will miss 3 games, while Jose Jimenez was suspended for 7 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Virgil Hiriza commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Jimenez's record up to now is 1-and-1 with no saves and a 5.95 ERA. He has given up 57 hits in 39.1 innings with 15 strikeouts. |
