Tom Williams Rockets 3 Home Runs Friday, June 23rd , 2051 Salem-Keizer Volcanoes catcher Tom Williams had a magnificent game against the Charleston Chews, rocketing three balls out of Volcanoes Ballpark to help the Volcanoes win, 8-6. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Williams went 4-for-4 with 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Salem-Keizer manager Jonathan Lawson said later. "Seems like Tom found his home run stroke today." Tom Williams hit a two-run home run off Jonathan Wilcox in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Wilcox in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Eric Scott in the 8th. Thus far this year, Williams is hitting .249 with 6 home runs, 24 RBIs and 21 runs scored. |
