Wells Batters Sarasota Big Time Thursday, May 2nd , 2052 It was a sensational day at the plate for Albuquerque Roadrunners shortstop Steve Wells, but a tough one for the team, as the Roadrunners dropped the contest, 11-7, to the Sarasota Supernovas. Even with the loss, Wells was pure misery for the Sarasota pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-5 in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Wells, who is the 23-year old shortstop . "Wells really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Supernovas manager Geoff Chapin told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Steve Wells hit a solo-shot off Greg Sall in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Greg Sall in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Greg Sall in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
