Munoz Bashes 5 Base Hits
Friday, July 17th , 2048
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Oscar Munoz, it came around today.
The 20-year-old catcher scattered hits all over Skyhawks Ballpark to pace the 13-2 Moscow Mules victory over the Flagstaff Skyhawks.
Flagstaff skipper Dan Avila told reporters in the press room that "Munoz deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Munoz hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Oscar Munoz hit a three-run double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
Thus far this season in 67 games, Munoz is batting .217 with 2 home runs, 29 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 55 hits in 254 at-bats.
