Gilbert Torches Blue Devils for 5 Hits Saturday, May 21st , 2050 Pat Gilbert exploded for a barrage of base hits at Bruins Ballpark. The Lincolnville second baseman had a field day in his team's 10-2 triumph over the Concord Blue Devils, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Gilbert must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Pat Gilbert hit a solo-shot off Greg Williams in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 9th.
