Qubec City Halts Lara's Hitting Steak Saturday, May 17th , 2053 Albuquerque Roadrunners shortstop Marco Lara finally met his Waterloo. A 20-game hitting spree is now history after Lara was unable to make anything happen in 3 at-bats today against the Qubec City Poutine. Fortunately for Lara and the Roadrunners, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game, 4-0. "We're a true team here," he said. "For 20 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day." This season, Lara is swinging the bat at a .378 rate with 42 hits in 111 at-bats. To date he has hit 6 home runs, scored 18 runs and driven in 25. |
