Traverse City Loses Lamas for Year
Thursday, July 18th , 2047
The doctors have spoken and Alejandro Lamas of the Traverse City Cherries didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old starting pitcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Lamas sustained his season-ending injury during the Lincolnville Abes game yesterday at Cherries Ballpark. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Traverse City medical staff reported Lamas had a torn meniscus and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months.
In 19 starts this season, Lamas has crafted a 5-4 record with a 1.88 ERA.
