Cano Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Schenectady
Monday, May 2nd , 2050
It was a doubly miserable day for Jesus Cano of the Albuquerque Roadrunners, as he saw his 24-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 8-4, to the Schenectady Grasshoppers at Ballpark of Schenectady. The 21-year-old third baseman was held hitless in 1 at-bat by the Grasshoppers.
"Anyone on a 24-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Schenectady manager Nate Hollerman said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done."
Cano on the season is batting .382 with 3 home runs. His totals include 22 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has played in 22 games.
