Mota Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Sunday, April 17th , 2050 Mario Mota got the glory and the headlines, but the Traverse City Cherries left with the win. The Sarasota left fielder easily handled the Cherries pitching, going 5-for-6, but his Sarasota Supernovas came out on the short end of the 10-7 score. Mota told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win. "Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end." Mario Mota singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Albert Salguero in the 9th.
