Monday, April 27th , 2048
It was a sensational day at the plate for Great Lakes Loons left fielder Andy Gallant, but a tough one for the team, as the Loons dropped the contest, 6-4, to the Schenectady Grasshoppers.
Even with the loss, Gallant was pure misery for the Schenectady pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-5 in an explosive display of hitting.
"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Gallant, who is the 22-year old left fielder .
"Gallant really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Grasshoppers manager Nate Hollerman told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Andy Gallant singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Tullio Citti in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season, Gallant is batting .367 with 7 RBIs, 9 runs scored and 4 home runs.
