Concord's Fernandez Gets CAP Player of the Week Monday, August 26th , 2052 Concord fans have something to crow about today as Concord third baseman Tony Fernandez nabbed the CBD Single A+ Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Fernandez. He posted a .444 average (12-for-27) this past week with 6 home runs, 15 RBIs, and 9 runs scored. For the year, Fernandez is hitting .361 with 15 home runs. His stats include 37 runs batted in and 26 runs scored. |
