Washington Goes 5-for-6 Monday, August 12th , 2052 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Jalen Washington is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Acadia Peregrines at Peregrines Ballpark. The monster effort from the 23-year-old first baseman helped the Houston Orange Kings get the win, 12-4. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Peregrines manager Mike Blumenfeld. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Jalen Washington hit a solo-shot off Isaiah Bock in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. During the current season Washington is batting at a .352 clip with 14 home runs and 52 RBIs. He has played in 75 games and scored 41 times. View Boxscore |
