Key West Eliminated from Playoff Contention Tuesday, August 31st , 2049 A late-season playoff push is not in the cards for the Key West Lime Pies. The club today was mathematically knocked out of playoff contention. "There are a lot of long faces around right now," said Lime Pies manager Paul Stevens. "You know in your head that every year, most teams in baseball have to go through this, but it still hurts when you realize you've lost your shot at a title." Before this season, the Lime Pies last missed the playoffs in 2047. In the 29 years they have been a CBD Double A franchise, they have made the playoffs 15 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Lime Pies have made the playoffs 7 times. |
