Hartford Wins Round 1 Sunday, September 18th , 2050 The Hartford Defenders have beaten the Omaha Steaks and will advance to the Round 2. Hartford won the final game by a 3-1 count to take the series 4-2. The Defenders triumph was no doubt in large part because of the performance of third baseman Andrew Danks, who was named MVP of the series. "The only thing that matters is that we're off to the next round and one step closer to a Round 3," he said. The Hartford Defenders don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Glendale Skeeters - Santa Clara Vanguard series. Glendale leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
