Hits Galore: Crane Drills 6 Hits
Thursday, September 1st , 2050
Getting 6 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Santa Clara's 8-7 win over Sao Paolo, starting pitcher Jake Crane was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Churrasco Grounds.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Crane said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Jake Crane singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 10th.
On his stats sheet this season, Crane shows a 10-7 record, 27 starts, 170 innings, 100 strikeouts and a 3.97 ERA.
