Harmon Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Saturday, August 20th , 2050
After a 5-hit effort to lead Hartford's 11-10 victory over the Omaha Steaks, third baseman Gabe Harmon told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the CBD Double A-level is really something special."

The 24-year-old player earned his accolades at Memorial Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Steaks.

"His swing is getting there," said Defenders skipper Leon Quinonez Jr., who spoke glowingly of Harmon after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Gabe did that to perfection."

Gabe Harmon singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off John Holsclaw in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, struck out in the 10th and singled in the 13th.

Harmon is swinging at a .279 pace on the year with 8 home runs, 25 RBIs and 30 runs scored. He has played in 66 games.
