Gold Silences Hillsboro, 7-0 Friday, August 19th , 2050 Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Hillsboro Hops as starter Jimmy Gold shut them out, 7-0, at Orange Sox Ballpark. The Fresno pitcher struck out 6 and walked 3 while allowing 4 hits. "Gold was good but he wasn't flawless," Hillsboro manager Ryan Muirhead said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Fresno, but this is on us." Gold has posted a 3-3 record for the year with a 4.24 ERA.
