Lime Pies Advance to Round 2 Tuesday, September 15th , 2048 Jorge Alvarado said he expected the Round 1 to be "a battle from start to finish." In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Key West Lime Pies encountered little resistance in sweeping the Hartford Defenders, to advance to the Round 2. "It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Alvarado. Key West won the final game by a 8-3 count and were led in the series by Alvarado, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .375 with 2 home runs. He also drove in 7 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Key West Lime Pies don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Baltimore Jaspers - Chesterfield Queens series. Baltimore leads the series 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
