Rowdy Players Suspended by League Saturday, August 5th , 2051 After an intense confrontation, both the Lime Pies Gabe Murphy and the Vanguard Kiril Mravin were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Key West-Santa Clara game. Gabe Murphy will miss 3 games, while Kiril Mravin was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Gabe Murphy commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Murphy is currently batting .314 with 2 home runs, 16 runs scored and 11 RBIs. His OBP is .385. Mravin has made 23 starts this season, posting 6 wins and 8 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .275 against him and he has 60 strikeouts in 117 innings with a 4.23 ERA. |
