Hauger Rips 3 HR Wednesday, August 2nd , 2051 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Santa Clara Vanguard. Hamtramck third baseman Zack Hauger tripled up on the home runs to propel the Paczkis to a win, 12-3, at Paczkis Ballpark. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Santa Clara manager C.J. Benevides said. "Hauger hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Hauger collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Zack Hauger grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Andrew Crawford in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Juan Herrera in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jesus Medina in the 8th. In 2051 Hauger has hit at a .281 clip with 101 hits, 22 home runs, 69 RBIs and has scored 53 times. |
