San Jose Starter Named CAA's Top Pitcher Tuesday, August 1st , 2051 San Jose Sabercats starter Bobby Shockey has collected the CBD Double A Pitcher of the Month award for a run of lights-out performances. "This town really appreciates it when you're going well," said Shockey. "They might boo you when you're getting knocked around, but they love you when you're mowin' them down." In July the 30-year-old compiled a 5-0 record in 6 starts with a 2.90 ERA. He threw 40.1 innings, fanning 26 while walking 9. Shockey has posted a 10-4 record for the year with a 3.04 ERA. Teams are hitting .248 against him and he has rung up 75 strikeouts in 136 innings. |
