Torres Must Sit Out 3 Games
Sunday, July 25th , 2049
Grand Rapids shortstop Luis Torres was ejected in the game between the Whitecaps and Steaks for letting loose a profanity-laced tirade against the home plate umpire after some calls didn't go the way he wanted. Torres was just as incensed after the game.
"These guys are a joke. How can people expect to take this game seriously when you have games like this?" Torres said in the locker room after the game.
Now Torres must face the consequences of this actions. League officials released this brief statement to the media: "We are regretful that Torres has taken this to the level that it has reached. The league will not tolerate this type of conduct. Due to his actions during and after the game, the league is suspending him for 3 games."
Torres is batting .153 this season in 87 games with 5 home runs, 20 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 41 hits in 268 at-bats.
