Lopez Cracks 5 Hits Saturday, July 8th , 2051 Jorge Lopez exploded for a barrage of base hits at Memorial Stadium. The Omaha right fielder had a field day in his team's 14-5 triumph over the Sao Paolo Churrasco, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Lopez must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Jorge Lopez singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th. This year, Lopez is hitting .361 with 91 hits, 19 home runs, 45 RBIs and has scored 51 runs. View Boxscore |
