Hamtramck Hopeless Against Pittman
Saturday, September 1st , 2046
Before the game, Phil Pittman said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Paczkis Ballpark, the Whitecaps pitcher blanked the Hamtramck Paczkis, 4-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Pittman said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my slider even when I was behind in the count."
The Grand Rapids starter held Hamtramck scoreless, giving up 3 hits while registering 6 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Paczkis manager David Lewis said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
Up to now Pittman has recorded a record of 7-11. In 25 starts he has fanned 110 batters in 162.1 innings with a 2.99 ERA.
