Martinez Struts Stuff in Win Over Hartford Tuesday, May 7th , 2052 Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Hartford Defenders as starter Alex Martinez shut them out, 5-0, at Defenders Ballpark. The Galway pitcher struck out 5 and walked 1 while allowing 5 hits. "Martinez was good but he wasn't flawless," Hartford manager Leon Quinonez Jr. said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Galway, but this is on us." Up to now Martinez has recorded a record of 3-3.
