Kingston Halts Telford's Hitting Steak Friday, April 19th , 2052 It just wasn't Mike Telford's day. The Glendale Skeeters grabbed the 4-0 win over the Kingston Mounties, but the Mounties mound staff did what nobody else could -- they stopped the 20-game hitting streak of Skeeters center fielder Mike Telford. "We might have focused a bit too much on stopping Telford," Kingston manager Conor Stroh commented afterward. "He had a nice hitting streak going, but the Skeeters have other hitters and they did their job today." So far this season, Telford has hit .373 with no home runs, 2 RBIs and scored 6 times. |
