Aversa Takes This Week's Trophy Monday, May 29th , 2051 Santa Clara fans have something to crow about today as Santa Clara shortstop Mike Aversa nabbed the CBD Double A Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Aversa. He posted a .522 average (12-for-23) this past week with 3 home runs, 6 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. This year, Aversa is batting .286 with 8 home runs and 23 RBIs. In 44 games he has scored 22 times. |
