Galway Announces Im Will Retire Wednesday, May 14th , 2053 His Galway Gales teammates were not terribly surprised when Won-shik Im announced his retirement today. In a low-key affair, Im explained his rationale. "My aches and pains have caught up with me. They don't seem to go away like they used to when I was a kid," he said. "I'm spending more and more time in the trainer's room and less and less time preparing for my next game. I've come to a realization that I've done what I can in this game and spending more time playing baseball is just stealing from my future self." When asked, the team manager noted "Won-shik has always been an honest man and when he says he's done, well, he's done." Over his career Im has batted .261 and collected 791 hits, 231 home runs and 541 RBIs. |
