DuBord Gets No-Hitter Against Key West Saturday, May 6th , 2051 It was a fantastic day for Kingston Mounties starter Ramiro DuBord and a lousy day for the Key West Lime Pies. The Kingston hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the Lime Pies, as the Mounties cruised to a 2-0 win. When it was all over, DuBord was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter. "The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," DuBord said later. He rang up 7 strikeouts and allowed 4 walks while shutting Key West down at Walkerton Grounds. On his stats sheet for the year DuBord shows a 1-3 record, 6 starts, 30.2 innings, 23 strikeouts and a 6.16 ERA. View Boxscore |
