Mata Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Hillsboro Tuesday, April 25th , 2051 The hitting streak that Hartford catcher Mike Mata had kept going for 20 games was ended by the Hillsboro Hops. Mata was stymied over 4 at-bats, but the rest of his team picked him up, getting the 8-0 victory at Defenders Ballpark. "Hitting streaks come and go," Mata said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." So far this year, Mata is batting .483 with 4 home runs. |
