Sartain on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Santa Clara
Tuesday, April 27th , 2049
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
C.J. Sartain is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Santa Clara Vanguard at Rockets Ballpark. The monster effort from the 28-year-old right fielder helped the Galway Gales get the win, 13-7.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Vanguard manager Ken Vowinkel. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
C.J. Sartain singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Bryan Miller in the 8th.
Looking at his present stats, Sartain has compiled a .500 batting average in 8 games with a .500 on-base percentage, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 5 runs.
