Quiroz Twirls No-Hitter Against Black Cats Friday, August 2nd , 2041 Alex Quiroz of the Amarillo Armadillos was the King of the Hill today at Black Cats Ballpark. The Amarillo starter dominated the Morningside Black Cats, giving up zero hits in his 3-0 victory. "The toughest part was the last couple of innings," Quiroz recounted after the game. "You know you have a no-hitter going, and so does everybody in the ballpark. That was the hard part, keeping focused and concentrating while your heart is pounding." Quiroz recorded 13 strikeouts and 3 walks in the game. This year Quiroz has recorded a 11-7 mark. In 18 starts he has fanned 172 batters in 136.2 innings with a 2.37 ERA. View Boxscore |
