MacKenzie Shuts Out Hartford, 5-0 Saturday, June 1st , 2047 The bats were ice cold for the Hartford Defenders at Ballpark of Grand Rapids. Grand Rapids Whitecaps starter Kyle MacKenzie kept the Defenders cold all day, shutting them out, 5-0. In a fine outing, the 23-year-old hurler allowed 3 hits while striking out 9 and walking 1. "I'm not quite sure what was different today," MacKenzie admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves."
