"Steve was just locating so well and using his pitches," Galway manager Javier Chavira said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate." Kortum recorded 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing. "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Fresno manager Joseph Winter said in postgame comments to BNN.
