Kriegel Sizzles, Omaha Fizzles Thursday, May 5th , 2050 The Omaha Steaks were almost helpless in their 5-0 loss to the Galway Gales and hurler Jake Kriegel. Kriegel kept the Steaks confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Kriegel," Omaha manager Rodolfo Hamlet said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 37-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 10 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Kriegel said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." So far this season, in no relief appearances Kriegel has compiled an ERA of 2.74.
