6-Hit Blitz by Omaha's Bermudez Tuesday, June 9th , 2048 Alex Bermudez got the glory and the headlines, but the Grand Rapids Whitecaps left with the win. The Omaha center fielder easily handled the Whitecaps pitching, going 6-for-8, but his Omaha Steaks came out on the short end of the 8-6 score. Bermudez told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win. "Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end." Alex Bermudez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Whip Knowles in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 10th, hit an RBI single in the 12th and flied out in the 14th. This season, Bermudez has banged out 30 hits in 77 at-bats for a .390 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .417 pace and his totals also include 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
