Matthews Earns CAA Player of the Week Monday, June 1st , 2048 What's in a number? In baseball, just about everything. The numbers that Santa Clara's Brian Matthews put up last week were the envy of the league, as Matthews came away with CBD Double A Player of the Week honors. He belted out 12 hits in 23 at-bats, 2 home runs and 5 RBIs last week as he posted his .522 batting average. Matthews is batting .309 this year with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
