Bunch Shines, Shuts Out Key West, 13-0 Friday, May 8th , 2048 The Key West Lime Pies were almost helpless in their 13-0 loss to the Amarillo Armadillos and hurler Tyrese Bunch. Bunch kept the Lime Pies confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Bunch," Key West manager Paul Stevens said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 22-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 7 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Bunch said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." This season, Bunch has worked 39.2 innings with 37 strikeouts en route to a 2-3 record and a 4.31 ERA. View Boxscore |
