Hartford Takes Round 2 Monday, September 23rd , 2052 It took a while, but the Hartford Defenders finally disposed of the Omaha Steaks 3-2 in the series clincher at Memorial Stadium. Winning the finale gave the Defenders the series, 4-3. They will now advance to the Round 3. The Most Valuable Player Award went to Hartford second baseman Rory Shepard. He batted .444 in the series, collecting 1 RBIs and scoring 2 runs. The Hartford Defenders will play against the Baltimore Jaspers in the next round.
