Kane Pitches Gem as Steaks Beat Hartford, 8-0 Thursday, September 19th , 2052 James Kane kept the Hartford Defenders hitters from doing much damage at Defenders Ballpark. Hartford could only muster 8 hits and draw no walks against the right-handed Kane, who controlled them throughout the game. Omaha won the contest, 8-0. Kane added 4 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Kane told reporters after the shutout win.
