Round 1 Goes the Distance, Sarasota Prevails Wednesday, September 29th , 2049 In an exciting Round 1 that had its fair share of drama and intrigue, perhaps it is CBD Triple A fans who have come out the winner. But on the field, the winners were the Sarasota Sweeties, who edged the Philadelphia Avalanche 4-3 to advance to the Round 2. Sarasota won the final game by a 4-2 count to wrap up the series. Luke Rhames earned series MVP honors, by hitting .333 with a .375 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Sarasota Sweeties will play against the Kinsale Fisherman in the next round. Kinsale won their series against the Thousand Oaks Rabbits 4 games to 2.
