Fisherman Advance to Round 3

Gary Hilbert said his Kinsale Fisherman simply weren't ready for the season to come to an end.
"We told ourselves we were winning this series no matter what," he said, shortly after being named the Round 2 MVP, following a 9-3 win at Blue Raiders Ballpark that officially eliminated the Rochester River Sharks, 4-2.
Hilbert said his team is "confident and ready" for the Round 3.
The Kinsale Fisherman will play against the Eugene Exploding Whales in the next round. Eugene won their series against the Estes Park Elderhorns 4 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.

Eugene Advances to Round 3

Eugene center fielder Ernest Walker couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Round 2.
"It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Walker moments after his club eliminated the Estes Park Elderhorns to advance to the Round 3.
Eugene won the final game by a score of 4-1 at Elderhorns Ballpark and took the series 4-2.
"We won the series and that's the main thing," Walker said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted."
For the series, Walker hit .333 with a .417 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Estes Park manager Art Gabbert.
The Eugene Exploding Whales don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Rochester River Sharks - Kinsale Fisherman series. Kinsale leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
