Rabbits Blank Sarasota, Valdez Winner

In a remarkable performance, Thousand Oaks Rabbits starter Jesus Valdez beat the Sarasota Sweeties, 3-0, in an impressive 5-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Rabbits hurler finished with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Sarasota manager Roberto Castellanos said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
Currently Valdez has a record of 8-6 with 108 strikeouts and 53 walks in 176.2 innings and a 3.67 ERA.

Memphis Clinches Postseason Appearance

The Memphis BBQ are celebrating a trip to the postseason and say they plan to make the most of the opportunity.
The team officially clinched a wild card berth today and starting pitcher Vicente Tejeda said they are "looking forward to making some noise" in the playoffs.
"There's nothing better than postseason baseball," he said. "We hope to go on a deep run and give our fans in Memphis something to be excited about."
For now, excitement is running high as the team's 74-70 record has clinched the playoff position and the team has a chance to win its 1st CBD Triple A championship.
