Thousand Oaks Helpless Against Williams, Lose 4-0
Monday, July 24th , 2051
The Thousand Oaks Rabbits were almost helpless in their 4-0 loss to the Rochester River Sharks and hurler Brian Williams. Williams kept the Rabbits confused all game, spinning a 5-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Williams," Thousand Oaks manager Ken Vowinkel said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 25-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 5 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Williams said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
To date this season, Williams is 3-3 with 7 starts and an ERA of 3.99 with 31 strikeouts in 47.1 innings.
