Ohata Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Sunday, September 11th , 2050 Kanezane Ohata exploded for a barrage of base hits at Avalanche Ballpark. The Philadelphia left fielder had a field day in his team's 7-3 triumph over the Flint Coney Dogs, finishing 5-for-5. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Ohata must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Kanezane Ohata singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. So far this season, Ohata has 12 home runs and a .270 batting average.
