Backman Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Friday, September 9th , 2050 Andy Backman of the Kinsale Fisherman tagged 1 hit in today's 5-4 loss to the Rochester River Sharks at Ballpark of Rochester to run his hitting streak to 20 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 20-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Andy Backman struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 10th. On the year, Backman has hit .283 with 13 home runs, 60 RBIs and scored 61 runs. |
