Avalanche Win, 7-0, as Nevarez Mystifies Nephi Monday, September 5th , 2050 Dave Nevarez was in a mood to talk following the Philadelphia Avalanche contest against the Nephi Threshers, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Threshers, 7-0. "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Nevarez said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again." The right-hander blanked Nephi on a 8-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 4 strikeouts. Up to now Nevarez has compiled an ERA of 3.13 with a 12-8 mark over 26 starts.
